Samsung's Galaxy S III hits sales of 20 million in 100 days

from Tecca:

Samsung announced that the Galaxy S III smartphone has exceeded sales of 20 million. The Android phone had reached 10 million sales by the end of July, with a substantial number of pre-orders boosting the Galaxy S III's strong performance. It's only been on the market for about 100 days, but it looks like the Samsung phone's sales will keep up momentum in the coming months. In fact, a marketing survey from August found that Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint customers all preferred the Galaxy S III to Apple's iPhone 4S.

The company gave a geographic breakdown of the sales numbers. Europe was the biggest market with 6 million units, followed by 4.5 million in Asia, 4 million in North America, and 2.5 million in South Korea. The phone launched in 28 European and Middle Eastern countries before hitting shelves in the U.S., which could account for the especially high numbers in those markets. ............(more)

Competition is good for all. Two leap frogging companies will mean better products no matter who you buy.
