The 1980 RNC definitely wasn't MY idea of a great convention, but what he said was really high praise coming from a Reagan-worshipping Republican like Joe.

If the Dems will really stick to and develop an America-first approach on the economy, limit the Republican claim to the flag to loons who are either apoplectic that a black man is President or upset that we don't invade countries unilaterally any more, then this was the beginning of something very big.
