from the public supported light rail ride to soaking in all the POSITIVE energy to observing the behaviors of our prominant politicians... all was good... because of my job I couldn't get many pics and certainly not good photos but I did sneak in a few candid snapshots (only twice did I leave my assigned post... once to run up to Gov. Shumlin --my gov-- to shake his hand and the other to get a photo of Skinner and Earl)... I did act as photographer for many who wanted their picture taken with someone... Michael Steele was really awesome about posing with people!!!
each day I worked I was posted right where I interacted with or closely observed most everyone participating (so for the most part if they were at the Convention I saw them)... I was thrilled that all was positive and all our politicians (exception maybe Jesse Jackson fairly surly but he was talking to Geraldo) were pleasant, respectful and sincere...
I am in love with the Diversity of our party and saddened that all the thousands lined up outside trying to get in -couldn't...
WE CAN NOT GO BACK... this election is crucial!!!

(22,756 posts)the first night I had the best seats in the house for Michelle Obama's speech (and others) and by Thurday, even though I was in the Arena... I chose to leave about 7 and head back to my hotel to watch THE speech with my partner (I was exhausted after three days of being on my feet all day and in the middle of all the going ons ) I loved being able to met my governor (Peter Shumlin) personally, shake his hand and thank him... told him it was funny I had to come all the way to NC to do that!

(2,239 posts)My Governor was there too, Ted Strickland (He'll be governor again if he runs in 2014). If I had the vacation time available, I'd have been there in a heartbeat. It's good that people like yourself take the time to get involved with these kinds of things.
Remember: History is made by those who show up.
