We took Lakoff's advice to articulate our values @ the DNC convention, values were well articulated. I saw a word cloud that counted how many time the word was mentioned at each convention, and the Dems mentioned it twice as often. I'll try to find that link & edit.

especially the government, as acknowledging help might suggest they owe something in return, such as taxes, but more fundamentally, any sense of responsibility to others.

they can't abide by that. their idea of freedom is freedom from responsibility. freedom to get away with anything the can get away with.
