Heres a question for us all to ponder over the weekend, now that the conventions are over and were all looking for stuff to think about.
Why in the world would an LA County Assistant District Attorney use his personal blog to spread lies about a disabled Navy vet, a retired public servant with Parkinsons disease, who merely told the truth in exposing what seems to be an elaborate scheme by certain right wing elements to grab money from other conservatives to use for unknown purposes?
We all remember Jack McCoy on the old Law and Order when he was the assistant DA in New York, right? Can you imagine they would write a script for Sam Watterson where he would knowingly spread lies about someone on a blog not in the interest of justice, mind you, but to assist in the continuance of this fraudulent scheme to enrich Michelle Malkin, Ali Akbar, Lee Stranahan and others in the name of helping right wing bloggers?
It boggles.
But, that is what Patrick Frey seems to be doing on his 'Patterico's Pontifications' blog.
Now, WHO is Patrick Frey?
I was able to find a couple 2010 mentions of his derring-do as a member of the District Attorneys Hardcore Gang Division and I know you will join me in applauding his efforts at keeping the streets of Los Angeles safe.
But whats the deal with this blog of his? Pattericos Pontifications? I have no problem with a public servant being a right winger. No more than I would have problems with a public servant being a progressive.
But a LIAR?
Well, isnt taking pieces of what someone wrote out of context, twisting the words to fit the preconceived notion you care to portray while ignoring the exculpatory words in the same paragraph a lie?
When you read this entry, you see its packed with provable lies. Instead of acting in the public interest and assisting the uncovering of what may well be a criminal activity by Michelle Malkin and other right wing bloggers, fleecing right wing donors of their hard earned money to send to what they, at first, referred to as a tax-deductible 501(c)3 organization, Frey seems more interested in continuing the fraud being perpetrated by members of the Michelle Malkin/Ali Akbar money pumping scheme by furthering the lies told by National Bloggers Club member Lee Stranahan that he and his family were threatened with harm by the blogger @OccupyRebellion and myself. There is no attempt to get to the truth here. There is no asking the other side for their story. There is no cross-examination. None of that stuff you see in Law and Order. Just a presumption of guilt and the twisting, misreporting and outright ignoring of the vast exculpatory evidence.
Now, I understand why Michelle Malkin and Lee Stranahan and Aaron (Worthing) Walker are lying about me and libeling me in THEIR blogs. They dont feel like just sitting there while some old bastard in Maryland with a progressive neurological disorder messes with their scam, from which everyone seems to be making a lot of money. (BTW I was notified in July that the IRS is looking into the inner workings of the National Bloggers Club, Inc., and that will go on no matter what happens to this old man with Parkinsons disease.)
What I dont understand is why a public servant, a person who took an oath to uphold the law, to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America as an Assistant District Attorney is assisting the liars and libel artists in the promulgation of their lies and libel. As a conservative blogger, has Patrick Frey received money from the National Bloggers Club? Is that why he is defending this obvious and proven scam?
All across the political spectrum, people are waking up to the National Bloggers Club and what they are up to. Conservative bloggers like Larry Sinclair, Paul Lemmen, The Crying Wolfe, as well the organization known as North American Conservative Bloggers United and others have dropped their membership in the NBC, Inc., when their questions went unanswered and they were attacked for having the temerity to ask questions in the first place.
So, what to do?
Well, I guess I am going to have to drop a line to LA County District Attorney Steve Cooley to see what he thinks about all of this.
Ill let you know if I get a reply. You might want to consider looking into this as well. They have a contact form on their website . We expect our public servants to be fair stewards of the public trust, on duty and off. And an assistant district attorney who lies on his personal blog, no matter how many names he hides behind, is not worthy of the public trust.
