Conversation with a jackass teabagger

This kid was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.

I am posting this as an example of how oblivious the wealthy actually are.

(Jackass)
Why the hell to the dems keep bundling 'the rich' into some elitest
group of millionaire snobs?
They seem to think that 'the rich' sit around smoking cigars and
laughing at poor people.
What the hell.
It's such a ridiculous emotional ploy. I hate those sorts of
stupid-ass arguments.
Talk about real stuff, quit creating some stupid war on an invisible
and nonexistent upper class of slaveowners.
JEsus.
Such a fuckin' smoke and mirrors act.
Nobody has ever MET one of these supposed rich snobs.
They've met credit card millionaire assholes.
America is a society that LEANS on benevolence.
No, seriously.
Name a handful of actual millionaires in real assets you know that are assholes.
I know a far greater ratio of middle and lower class individuals that
are jackasses. By far the ratio is higher. You don't get to be rich by
being a stuck up assholish prick.
I know dozens and dozens and dozens of people with an actual positive
net worth of greater than one million. The top 1 percenters.
The people who are demonized by the dem and media uproar.
And they're the most giving, benevolent people on earth. I get so
fuckin' pissed at these bullshit.
I'm sure there are some assholes that exist. But you've never met them.
Nor have I.
The vast majority are positives, who do fantastic things with their money.

(Me)
You're the one who was saying yesterday that if you had a bucket of
money you would spend it on yourself.

(Jackass)
OH, I know I would.
Which is why I don't have any.
Watch the Reddit threads.
They will demonize the wealthy as a class, then promptly point out
that they only know one or two 'wealthy people', and THOSE people were
awesome, but they're the exceptions. And I"m like, 'what the hell? Can
nobody see a theme here?'
Jamie Johnson is an heir.
And he made a documentary about heirs. So we're talking about a one in
a hundred thousand circumstance.
There are a few thousand wealthy heirs in the U.S. They don't count as
the majority of the wealthy in this nation.
I mean seriously, I know people who give away thousands and tens of
thousands of dollars a week to people in need, anti-homelessness
causes and various medical benefits charities....
And guess what? No middle class guy can do that.

(My other friend)
Sure, there's no doubt that there are good rich people.

(Jackass)
I would argue that the majority of them are good people.

(My other friend)
However, the middle class can probably do more en masse because
there's simply more or them.

(Jackass)
Agreed. But typically, they choose not to.
They give to more personally located charities. Clubs or churches.
Rarely giving outside. There is tons of data about this.
Let me argue this though;
Wealth, especially new wealth, is the product of something.
It doesn't fall from the sky, it doesn't come from lotteries.
Give the average person a one time check of milllions of dollars, and
it will disappear.
It happens all the time.
The reality is that wealth cannot just materialize.
And the idea that there is some benevolent sugar daddy giving an
unequal playing field of fortunes just outrageous me.
Oh, I just watched FOUR different sections of talks from the DNC,
In which republicans were accused of trying to create a wealthy
superclass by removing benefits from the poor.
And who the fuck do they think George Soros is, exactly?
A black street kid?
Hell naw.
I don't like my friends or family (though not now, admittedly) being
lumped with assholes.
Who said that was the goal of Republicans/
Why is GENUINE EQUALITY suddenly 'attacking the poor'?
The American Dream is NOT a luxury life. The American Dream is and
always has been the opportunity to create whatever life you choose.
And that possibility still exists.
There is nothing, absolutely nothing, barring any man woman or child
from pursuing a goal in their life, and every avenue and vehicle is
there for them to succeed or to fail.
There is no tax equality in this nation.
Create a flat tax, and you would suddenly have the entire middle class
ALSO cutting benefits from the 'poor'.
The trouble with our benefits is not the AMOUNT of money, it's how
that money is corruptly shuffled.
Dems have some of the answers, Republicans have some of the answers;
But there is absolutely, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to be accomplished by
demonizing one of the most important, giving, and EQUALLY AMERICAN
sectors of society.
AMERICANS WITH RIGHTS should not be treated like assholes simply
because they thrive.

What a douche.

AFAIK the Dems are just asking the rich to pay the same top marginal rate as they did under Clinton, which actually helped to create a booming economy.

1) Pay off my medical bills and set aside at least two years of utility, food, gas, and property tax type payments.

2) I've got a bunch of charities that I know need things - men's shelter that needs blankets, beds, food, and clothing - battered women's shelter that needs cell phones and bullet-resistant glass (yes, it's been shot at many times) - no-kill animal shelters that need, well, everything - etc.

3) Some kind of car for my eldest daughter.

4) Get the leaks taken care of in our only two working cars so they don't overheat anymore.

5) Find some long-term and short-term investments and keep enough liquid that it can be used for emergencies or to help out a family that's been hit by a tragedy.

6) Take my wife out to a fancy-schmancy dinner somewhere (like the pizza pub we usually go to that has like 40 beers on tap and the typical bill with a generous tip is under $30).

7) See if I can find a working "Flash" pinball machine as a guilty pleasure.

8) Donate to DU again.

9) Hold a kid-friendly (and adult friendly, mind you) block party.

10) Arrange for a limo to take my wife and I to and back from a ritzy hotel somewhere with an in-room bar and hot tub, and HUGE bed and camp out for a week. I'll need to remember to bring my meds and come up for air once in a while.
