Asked by a friendly news outlet why he didn't bother praising our troops in his speech, Romney responded:
"When you give a speech you don't go through a laundry list, you talk about the things you think are important."

(11,075 posts)but they did a great job with the messaging at the convention! They were on the attack, which is new for them, LOL! I'm hoping it continues.

The contrast between Romney's text and the President's video would make for an ad as classic as LBJ's "Daisy" ad against Goldwater. I already remember the clever turns of phrase in the President's vignette:
From http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2012/09/04/us/politics/democratic-convention-speeches-annotated.html?ref=politics :
"I think about the young sailor I met at Walter Reed Hospital still recovering from a grenade attack that would cause him to have his leg amputated above the knee.
And six months ago we would watch him walk into a White House dinner honoring those who served in Iran (sic; Iraq) -- tall and 20 pounds heavier, dashing in his uniform, with a big grin on his face, sturdy on his new leg.
And I remember how a few months after that I would watch him on a bicycle, racing with his fellow wounded warriors on a sparkling spring day, inspiring other heroes who had just begun the hard path he had traveled. He gives me hope. He gives me hope."
The misspeak of "Iran" rather than Iraq might have to be edited out, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing in the President's video. And maybe leave the video as-is, to make Republicans look small as they poinced on the President's "gaffe".
