Secret Service investigates Ohio teen's tweet about Obama

Secret Service investigates Ohio teen's tweet about Obama
12:18 PM, Sep. 7, 2012
Written by John Faherty

Alyssa Douglas, a high school girl from the Clarksville area, in Clinton County, sent out a tweet Thursday night saying: “Someone needs to assassinate Obama...like ASAP.”

Now the Secret Service is investigating the threat. The Clinton-Massie School District had a meeting with Douglas and her parents.

The local Secret Service office said it will report its findings to the U.S. Attorney's Office for Southern District of Ohio.

It is possible that the tweet will be determined to be not a legitimate threat to the president’s well being.

the twit was in Clinton County.
Cincinnati has it's share of hard right loons-but they also have Mayor Mallory-who was at the convention last night-and who is well thought of and progressive.

The swarm of inbred rednecks and freaks of nature you are thinking of are directly across the river in KY.

I know whereof I speak. Unfortunately.

41 miles to Clarksville
Cross the OH river to KY
and KY's inbreds create as much if not more havoc than those pikers in Cincinnati-
Cincinnati coughed up Simon Leis-they weren't even good enough to produce the weeping cheetoh-that one came from butler county.

Ky farted Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul
I think KY has earned it's place in the inbred freak of nature showcase.

1966, and while it has many bigots, there are many progressives. There was a time when it had IIRC the 3rd largest Gay community per capita, in the country. And I hung out in the neighborhood of Clifton, which was a great mixture of diverse races and we all partied together!

But my bias comes form knowing a family that used to live in Wyoming. They were ultra right wing, and I have not gotten over that.

1964, Hyde Park. Cincinnati has a vibrant arts community and many progressives in addition to Mayor Mallory-for whom I have great respect.

I also had the ....pleasure I guess is the polite word to use-of living on the west side of town. It's a time warp over there-bigotry isn't common-it's expected.

Sounds like they're already setting up for a way for her to weasel out with no consequences.

But a teenager who smokes pot at a high school party has to be arrested and charged with a felony. Got it.

does the person making the threat have a plan with sufficient detail and means to carry out that threat, I believe.

It also has to be addressed with enough specificity in a place where it is likely that the threatened person will read it (this should qualify on that part).

Personally, I'm not a fan of the "legitimate threat" standard. Seems to invite trouble.

Why is everybody who doesn't support Obama have to be a bigot? I didn't vote for him the first time but I'm seriously considering voting for him this time. Does that make me a bigot, or half a bigot, or a born again tolerant person, or what?

This little twit from Ohio called for Obama to be assassinated. Is that your definition of "not supporting him"? I don't need to tell you what you are, please go look in the sewer and you'll find your answer.

I am curious why you didn't vote for Obama then and why you are considering it now.

Sometimes I wish MIRT weren't quite so efficient, though.

3/8 posts hidden and 'I'm a dopehead' for a handle was simply too trollish to last, I guess.
