I am beyond angry right now, and am trying to calm down enough to write this diary. Romney's words:
When you give a speech you don't go through a laundry list, you talk about the things you think are important.
What is "important" to Romney is that defense contractors continue to receive money from our government.
And I sit here, as my son serves in the United States Marines, just shaking.
&feature=player_embedded
Our son's and daughter's who are serving deserve better than to be told they are not important, they deserve respect and the highest level of gratitude for their service, for putting their lives on the line, every day.
Parent's of children in the military are a special lot, we love our children and each and every day say a prayer that they are safe and will be in our arms once again.
Our military children do not receive large salaries, they work around the clock, they do things that we can't even imagine. All because they love their country and want to be a part of something bigger than they are.
How DARE Romney even utter the words he uttered today. He has never served in our military, neither have his sons. He has never known the sacrifice or what it means to either serve or be a parent of a child who serves, and he will never know the heart ache, the worry, the tears, the pride, the part of you that is missing while your child serves hundreds or thousands of miles away.
I will never forget the night before our son entered the Marines, we were so proud of him, and yet at the same time our hearts ached in such a way that words cannot ever come close to describing.
Luckily our son has not been deployed over seas (yet), but many of his friends have gone, and fortunately all have come back safe.
Our son, the sons and daughters of this nation who serve, deserve a President who will never, ever, say that they are "not important.
So this is what I have to say to Romeny:
Mr. Romney, our troops are more important than you and your money will ever be.

...to put a comma after "asshole" in your last sentence, just to be clear. I did a double-take on that.

My husband and I took a drive to see the Potomac last weekend and driving through Great Falls - land of military contracts and lobbyists - was really eye-opening. Almost every McMansion had a Rmoney sign out front - and one even had an empty chair next to it.
Guess what? WE paid for those McMansions.
