Then somebody pointed out to me--rightly--that he was thereby equating human beings with equipment (I'd interpreted his statement as meaning he would increase funding to provide services to veterans, because that's what strengthening the military would mean to me, but of course that's not what it would mean to Romney).

I'm starting to think that I could not have been more wrong when I thought he would be able to talk his way out of this. What a horse's ass he is, and thank goodness he is so insensitive and tone-deaf.
