Utah man plans "this is the song that doesn't end" 9/11 tribute

http://onlineathens.com/breaking-news/2012-09-07/man-plans-sing-patriotic-song-911-times-mark-911

WASHINGTON CITY, Uta — A Utah man is resting his vocal chords for a two-day marathon singing session to remember the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Alan Foote of Washington City says he plans to sing Lee Greenwood’s patriotic song, “God Bless the U.S.A.,” 911 times at a rate of about 19 times per hour, with 15-minute rest periods.

He told The Spectrum of St. George (http://bit.ly/RIwNpI ) that he plans to begin the session before dawn Sunday at Staheli Family Farms, with a goal of finishing by 6:46 a.m. Tuesday, the anniversary of when the first plane struck the World Trade Center.

Foote says 500 flags will surround the tent where he will sing, and 3,497 solar lights will represent the number of people killed in the attacks.
