I am a Civil Servant, and we also contribute to to the economy.
Not only that, but we provide services for a lot less than private corporations, because we don't pay management billions.

Are there fewer kids to educate? Roads to fix? Less need for firemen and police?

We have to make this a huge point that a LOT of the lack of jobs growth comes from layoffs on the public sector, mostly in states with Repug governors.
