I just noticed more evidence of an improving economy:

As a (now recently retired) airline employee I have subscribed for many years to a newsletter produced by the Air Transport Association,an organization of airlines and other aviation interests. Their latest newsletter said many airlines were showing an increase in traffic for last month and were also predicting an increase for the 3rd quarter, which is normally slow. Airline executives also expressed confidence in increased business travel. However you may feel about airlines, this is good news because air travel tends to be discretionary and is one of the first things to start declining when the economy falters; the fact that it is now picking up instead of declining or remaining flat is another indication that the economy is improving.

So Mittens can take his doom and gloom and cram it.
