Chris has been doing great lately, but he just let a right wing hack claim that Obama promised to get UE under 6%. Obama never make such a promise.
Chris needs to point out that in Feb 2009, the month when the stimulus passed, UE was already 8.4%. It continued to rise and hit 10.2%.
And now its 8.1%.
Obama stopped the collapse, and UE is now BETTER than it was in Obama's first full month in office.

(27,787 posts)Chris has been so quick to smack down stupid lately, I could not believe that he let that nonsense fly.
But Chris got it right before the segment closed.

(27,787 posts)We need Dems pointing out UE was ABOVE 10%!!! And climbing!!!
I'd have liked Chris to smack that twit when he lied at the start, but at least Chris smacked him good at the end of that segment!!
Great to see ... I mean hear.

(27,787 posts)I'm listening on-line not watching the show so I can't see how he looks.
But you are right ... I stayed up late last night and I'm sure Chris was up later than I was.
An initial opportunity to smack that guy got passed him, but Chris close the segment strong.
And for context, I've been tracking this particular GOP lie for a long time, and I know some one like Chris, and every real journalist should know the facts on it cold.
Anyway, great to see Chris, yet again this week, not let a lying twerp lie freely.

(27,787 posts)And that makes sense. And to his credit, Chris, who SHOULD be exhausted, closed that segment strong and did smack that RW liar.
And I'm hearing the next segment now, and Chris seems strong. Great to see ... well, hear.

(37,364 posts)He certainly did call Steve Moore out on those unemployment stats and told him that if the markets had performed under Bush the way it has since 2008, Moore would be dancing.

(27,787 posts)And then you'll know what I listened to.
The RW liar told his lie, and Chris (probably exhausted, see some of the other responses to me) did not refute it WHEN IT HAPPENED. The lies were hanging.
But then, at the END of the segment, Chris did take on that jerks LIES. Which I also heard, and have praised.
My "UGH" ... was basically about the missed opportunity to smack that liar as it happened. Which is what Chris has bee doing lately. If you LIE, Chris NAILS YOU. And this particular lie in which we need Chris to nail them.
At the end of the segment, Chris did nail the liar, which is great.
I hope more Dem pundits learn this common GOP lie, and stand ready to refute it as it happens.
As others noted, Chris has probably had no sleep, and so the fact that he finished the segment smack that lie, is great.
