The local police and the United States embassy are trying to determine the status of an Afghan man who was arrested at the Sangster International Airport (that's Montego Bay, Jamaica) on Wednesday.

The man, Sohail Muhammad Siddiq, was arrested by investigators from the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division shortly after he arrived in the island from Dubai.

He was found in possession of 351-thousand Euro (250-thousand US dollars).

However, highly placed sources involved in the investigations told RJR News that the local police and their US counterparts are now trying to determine the man's true identity and his purpose in Jamaica.

RJR News understands that the police are concerned about Mr. Siddiq's travel pattern.

The travel documents seized revealed that Muhammad Siqqid, who is believed to hold US citizenship, has traveled to Afghanistan, South Africa and Dubai in recent months.

However, it's understood that the Americans are deeply involved in the investigation.

According to our sources, the US government is now investigating whether Muhammad Siddiq is connected with a terrorist Organisation and associated with Muhammed Faisal and Mohammed Asif Ahmad.
