http://blog.nielsen.com/nielsenwire/media_entertainment/closing-night-of-democratic-national-convention-draws-35-7-million-viewers/That's about 5.5 million more viewers than watched Romney's speech (their final night got 30.3 million viewers): http://blog.nielsen.com/nielsenwire/politics/final-night-of-republican-national-convention-draws-30-million-viewers/
Yet this is how Politico chose to frame it: "Obama speech draws fewer viewers than '08"
http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2012/09/obama-speech-draws-less-viewers-than-134907.html (He got only about 2.5 million fewer viewers from his HISTORIC convention speech in '08. Not bad if you ask ME.)

So really, IMO, our numbers are actually even better than reported.
Neat.
yet Politico put it in the most negative light possible.

(53,661 posts)I hope they'll share what they saw in other ways. And if the feeds hrough Youtube are within those numbers. Of course, Politico, like all the others, will give a negative spin. If those translate to votes, it's great news.

(14,177 posts)Romney is the only politician I have ever seen get upstaged by a chair. No one remembers Romney's speech. That is probably a good thing though, because he let his hood slip again.

(1,362 posts)Elizabeth Warren was fantastic and Clinton gave a good economic speech regardless of how many watched them vs. other things in a media propaganda war.
