Romney Pulls Double-Arabian, Takes Back "ObamaCare" support (updated)

Romney Pulls Double-Arabian, Takes Back "ObamaCare" support

by Vyan

Hollee Crap Dingle. I shit you NOT.

http://www.alan.com/2012/09/09/mitt-romney-flip-flops-on-health-care-again-within-six-hours-takes-back-what-he-said-this-morning

In reference to how Romney would deal with those with preexisting conditions and young adults who want to remain on their parents’ plans, a Romney aide responded that there had been no change in Romney’s position and that “in a competitive environment, the marketplace will make available plans that include coverage for what there is demand for. He was not proposing a federal mandate to require insurance plans to offer those particular features.”

The "Marketplace will make available" that which there is "demand for"? Exactly when the Frack has that ever happened in the Insurance Market?

Just 6 hours after his Meet the Press Interview, where he claimed he would "Keep the Good Parts of ObamaCare" - GOP Presidential Nominee has managed to pull a Double Arabian Somersault to now argue what he said is not what he said.

Wow. I have no words. Truly.

Romney Says He Supports Popular Obamacare Provisions On NBC, Quietly Reverses Hours Later On Conservative Website

By Judd Legum

<...>

This morning on NBC, Mitt Romney said that “there are a number of things that I like” about Obamacare and suggested he would retain: 1. The gaurentee that insurance companies couldn’t discriminate against people with pre-exisiting conditions, and 2. The provision that allows young adults to stay on their parents plan.

Watch it:

Just hours later, his campaign quietly told a conservative website that he actually opposes those provisions of Obamacare:

In reference to how Romney would deal with those with preexisting conditions and young adults who want to remain on their parents’ plans, a Romney aide responded that there had been no change in Romney’s position and that “in a competitive environment, the marketplace will make available plans that include coverage for what there is demand for. He was not proposing a federal mandate to require insurance plans to offer those particular features.

The problem is they dont feel like they can win saying what they believe so they will say anything no matter if it flies directly in the face of the beliefs they hold.

They have figured out that the american people for the most part have a short attention span. They can say anything they want this week in response to criticism and then backtrack with something else next week and a large portion of the electorate will only remember the part they wanted to believe.

I was shocked when i heard him say he wanted to keep the ban on pre existing conditions and other portions and wondered instantly well what part are you trying to get rid of?

Of course he immediately walked that back because it is the pre existing condition clause that forces the mandate. There is no way to keep that without keeping the mandate so he would have to explain how he would pull that off and like so many of his other supposed policies he wouldn't be able to.

I don't care how much you covet the presidency, you don't flip flop willy nilly like this and expect people to accept it as the behavior of a sane person.

figure out all these prediction about the polls. What exactly are people expecting to change that will allow Romney to make gains: changing positions, continuing to lie and saying stupid shit in general?
