My argument to a Tea Party proud member about this 2012 election...

I've come to conclusion that you can't argue the issues with someone from the Tea Party. They are hard core about their pet issues and really don't respond well to logic. Mind you I have discussed the issues with regular republicans, those more align with the older version of the GOP, and you can always have good debates with them even if the end you agree to disagree.

HOWEVER.....

I figured why bother with issues and go after the biggest weakness about Romney/Ryan - can you trust them ESPECIALLY Mitt Romney. I just pointed out all the flip-flops that Romney has made INCLUDING his most recent comments about how he would keep some of Obama's healthcare plan intact.

The Tea Party type finally admitted that he's finding it difficult to support Romeny but he cannot vote for Obama. And he is strongly considering the guy that Ron Paul endorsed (Libertarian party)

Point is this - don't try to sway these people to vote democrat, they won't. Just remind them how untrustworthy Romney is, how he's already caving to some of the things that Tea Party folks hate (like Obamacare, which was based on Romneycare) and mention that Ron Paul is going libertarian.

Divide and Conquer - works everytime!

Paul didn't endorse Romney? Darn, I missed that. arcane1 Sep 2012 #1
