They don't want to say because they need to keep it competitive and get more ratings.

I think they're weaving these national polls over the fact that Obama is leading in the swing states just to confuse low-information voters.

Nationally, I'm sure it is closer, when one considers how many "red" states there are in the South and mid-West, but, in the states that (unfortunately) count, Obama's kicking Romney's butt.

Ratings matter because the ad contracts are based on audience size, but the main thing is they want both sides to believe it is still competitive so they will both keep advertising.
