A Civil War re-enactors’ band marching past dressed in good Union blue uniforms, waving the Stars and Stripes , and playing such appropriate music like The Battle Cry of Freedom, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, Marching Through Georgia and other 1860’s patriotic band music.

Hundreds of Iowans fought and bled to preserve the Republic and the retiring Congress-critter from the 4th district ought to have some of his state’s history rubbed in his face.
