No matter the circumstances, consequences, I will not work while a murderer is our president. I will not work for employers that refuse to protect us. I am done with the madness, the liars, the murderers. I turn my back on all of it.
I am in complete defiance. Anyone, who does not like it, can kiss my fucking ass.
My wife and I are not expendable.

(93 posts)I don't see it being a situation most could do but go for it.
I haven't missed a day of work this year. It's my fun that has been canceled. I canceled a family event I was hosting tonight over concerns of vandalism. It would have been our first family event since the lockdown. I just changed direction and went to a protest last night and will be doing the same again tonight.
One of the recurring themes from the Pastor at last nights was that posting on social media and online is not a great form of protest. They are places to organize protests. They are a place to promote protests. They are a place to celebrate protests. But if you did not get off your couch then you are not the support they know they can count on.
I find your message to be a bit disjointed. You emphasize work but then delve into comments like "I turn my back on all of it" and "I am in complete defiance." You lost me as to if this is work related or if you are withdrawing from society.
Silence is compliance.
"My wife and I are not expendable."
In the workplace we all are.
"Anyone, who does not like it, can kiss my fucking ass."
I don't think that sounds as tough and bold as you think it does.

(4,379 posts)I know what I am watching. Trump has killed thousands of Americans and so have some employers. I am out. For me it is all about protecting my wife and I.
Don't you know when someone is trying to kill you?

(93 posts)No one has ever said that and actually not cared what the person is thinking. Here is proof of that. After stating "I don't care what you think" you then ask me a question.
I find your reply here even more disjointed.
"Don't you know when someone is trying to kill you?"
I stood outside last night protesting against inequality. I will be doing so again tonight. I provide for my family and fight for fairness in my community. I fight against those trying to kill me. I use my best judgement and sense to do so.
I'm assuming from your comment that it is society you are withdrawing from. You never actually addressed that. An overwhelming majority don't have the opportunity to do so. That overwhelmingly includes the oppressed.
I agree that you should protect your wife and yourself as you see fit. I hope she has a say in the matter. For me it's much bigger. I seem to be protecting my family and trying to do good for my community as well.

(4,379 posts)Excuse the hell out of us for wanting to live. Excuse us, you go to work perhaps, not protected by your employer. You go to work as Trump tries to kill you. Maybe you have a job that is a matter of life and death for people. You are doing the right thing. I understand that.
Most people are not in that situation. We are being murdered, that's what I see.
