Joe Biden pulls Julin Castro into campaign, asks for help to 'tackle police reform.'

'As a Democratic presidential candidate, Castro put out a stand-alone police reform plan and cited names of police violence victims in his campaign speeches.

Former Vice President Joe Biden followed a speech addressing the national protests over the death of George Floyd on Tuesday with a welcoming of Julián Castro to his campaign to help tackle police reform, an issue that was a cornerstone of Castro's failed presidential campaign.

“Julián — I made a promise to George’s family that he wouldn’t just become another hashtag. We’re going to tackle this head on — and we’re going to need your help to do it. Grateful for your support,” Biden said in a retweet of Castro's tweet of support for Biden.'>>>

Castro is brilliant when it comes to his deep understanding of housing and specific needs within communities.

Good move by Biden. I like it a lot.

Castro doesn't bring much to the table. I never understood the hype about this guy, and his own campaign didn't change my mind.

I so wanted him to run against Abbott last time around. I think he would have won.

that's always been the case - their struggle between Christian conservative views (such as abortion) and ending up voting against themselves. If we can get more Hispanic voter turnout Tx is winnable.

A lot of Asians and Latinx as well. The Asians are generally conservative. But the Latinx community is a mixed bag. My neighbor across the street applied for his citizenship, now he's waiting for approval. The Corona has delayed the process. His wife got approved after the last presidential selection. But she can vote this time around. Hopefully her husband will get approved before the registration deadline in October.

He isn't a fan of the current resident at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Older gen? Depends. The good thing is the older gen don't vote so they don't count. The younger ones get a not-so-gentle reminder from their auntie to make sure they're registered. I do all the legwork for them - forms, where to vote... to make sure they get their butts to the polls. The good thing is they hate the Idiot & GOP enablers as much as i do. I rarely use that H word but in this case it's warranted.

Hoping to get some Latinx to help me go door to door whenever we're allowed to do so, so I'll have an interpreter.

I will do me.

What evidence is there that Castro has any particular pull among Latinos? He never ran a statewide race in Texas. In fact, you might say that he ducked the Senate race against Cruz and the governor's race against Abbott. His own presidential campaign gained no traction among Latinos -- or anybody else, for that matter. (Heck, he doesn't even really speak Spanish.)

The only thing I remember about Castro 2020 was the cheap shot he took against Joe Biden in one of the debates.

So, yeah, I'll do me. I have no use for this guy. Apologies.
