That's just as bad as not wearing it at all (or using it as a necklace).

I do when I go into some stores or I'm going to be in close proximity to people. More out of respect. I still don't know anyone or know anyone who knows anyone around me who has covid. I'm not sheltered. I find it a bit shocking.

The fact that I wear a mask around others out of respect?

The fact I don't know anyone or anyone who knows anyone with covid?

I don't get your issue.

It is also completely irrelevant. I wouldn’t “know” in that situation. Your retort doesn’t change my statement.

I also know what I stated. It wouldn’t be known to me if they were asymptomatic. I also know I’m not surrounded by a bunch of people not getting sick yet am surrounded by asymptomatic.

I wish people were able to grasp how different areas are impacted by the virus.

5th hardest hit area in Illinois is the 49th largest county.
My county is 4th in population 3rd in cases. We are 17 times the population of that 5th place county. Just under 10 times the cases. Per capita, they have the most cases in the state.

yourself, too. All it takes is a yahoo or two who decided to whoop it up in some crowded bar to bring it into your area. I'm really sensitive to this because the 21-year-old daughter of a close friend has been fighting this for almost 3 months now. She was healthy as a horse, ran or walked 3-5 miles a day, and now she still takes nebulizer treatments 4 times a day and can't walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded. Doctors are afraid her lungs are permanently damaged. She wasn't a partier; she was an MSU student who worked part-time in a coffee shop. No traveling.

All it takes is one person.

Not one person in the store was wearing them, including employees.

I didn’t wear one in a restaurant two nights ago. It would have been difficult to eat.

It’s not disturbing in the slightest.

I am truly sorry to hear about that.

I live in a high population area but we aren't on top of one and other. I believe it is the area more than anything. Lots of confirmed cases in Pinellas County. Small compared to the population itself.

I sure as heck don't dismiss it. Nor do I make light of it.

see masks in all three places I had to go. Folks walking outside didn't have them on, but I could see them around their necks. I don't have mine on when I go outside either but I will pull it back up if I see someone approaching me on the sidewalk. This thing isn't over.

Governor Whitmer has been quite the leader in our state.

And, no, it is not over. Which is why people who have media exposure need to model appropriate behavior.

I have been watching all last week in shock as unmasked people run up to reporters and shout in their faces, as people have been gathering in a park in Seattle with no masks, as the police chief in Ferguson did am interview with no mask.

This is a public health nightmare scenario. In two weeks, there will be a huge surge of cases, and it's going to be on top of the surges we're seeing right now in places like Arizona that have opened back up.
