small bedroom town outside Madison. Mostly young folks........and who said they better get off their ass and do something. They really make me proud. Really kinda reminds me of the Vietnam protests too.......change will come because this is a major protest.

(29,644 posts)But it sure took me back to Madison protesting the Vietnam war.....I was 18 in the heart of the uprising, and I told Zack, nephew of my friend, he made me so proud.

(13,776 posts)It's kind of amazing how many small towns have had protests. I was watching an Iowa TV news channel last night (somebody here posted the link to watch Steve King lose) and they had a segment on a local one. Good for all those people who go even though they won't make the national news.
And good for your friend's nephew!

(9,258 posts)In the Philly burbs had its first protest march ever yesterday. When it got on FB the week before there was a mad rush by local RWNJs to scream about Antifa and looting and they published names of the organizers. Then a rumor that the thing was cancelled. Nope, it wasnt. A very peaceful demonstration downtown, no incidents, among the protestors were a couple local ministers. All wearing masks.
