The nytimes now needs a smashing editorial piece to counter Tom Cotton's facist Opinion article.....

Tom Cotton's Opinion article in nyt"

A better piece to encourage public scrutiny would have been about how a U.S. Senator tried to get a fascist's wet dream published, and why that's bad.

No wonder he feels so entitled. I can’t believe there is not one democratic politician in the whole state of Arkansas that could at least make him sweat a little.

Democratic Party

Josh Mahony was the only candidate to file for the Democratic Primary, however he dropped out on November 12, 2019. Because he dropped out after the filing deadline, the Democratic Party of Arkansas can only nominate a replacement if the candidate dies, becomes seriously ill, leaves the state, or files for another office. Alex Gray, an Arkansas attorney who works on state election issues, believes this means the Democratic Party of Arkansas will not be able to fill the vacancy. The Arkansas Democratic Party announced on November 25, 2019, that they would not be able to field a new candidate to replace Mahony. A memo from the Cotton campaign to supporters details a strategy of sitting on opposition research regarding Mahony's employment history until after the filing deadline had passed.

Withdrawn

Josh Mahony, nonprofit executive, former chair of the Fayetteville Airport Commission, and nominee for Arkansas's 3rd congressional district in 2018

Declined

Pat Hays, former mayor of North Little Rock and nominee for Arkansas's 2nd congressional district in 2014

Greg Leding, state senator

Mike Beebe, former Governor of Arkansas

Wesley Clark, retired General, former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO

Joyce Elliott, state senator and former state representative

I suspect he’ll hate being in the minority and even though he’s only 37, I doubt he’ll stay in the congress as a minority member for 30+ years. I think once we take back the senate, that’s it for them. It will be many decades if that for them to get it back. Arizona, Georgia and Texas will have blue senators in the next decade. Arizona will already have two in January.

The infamous MAJOR Halloween 2016 article immediately before the election was a news divisions summary to the electorate. It reported that the FBI investigation into Trump-Russia hadn't found anything significant and intimated it was closing the investigation (actually revving up, with hundreds of agents).

The journalists whose original story was completely rewritten to help throw the election to the Republicans, by denying Trump's probable treason, protested but remained with the Times, last I looked anyway.

And of course the Times is still at it.
