Anti-Japanese Protests Across China Turn Violent

While US media focuses on the unrest in the middle east, unrest is brewing in China, with thousands taking to the streets in protest of Japan's ownership a group of tiny islands in the East China Sea. The islands are valuable, since they're surrounded by deposits of natural gas.

In this BBC article, the protests have burned Japanese flags and attacked Japanese made cars and businesses, protesters in Hong Kong marched chanting anti-Japanese slogans. The article also claims the protests appear to be sanctioned and controlled by Chinese government to promote anti-Japanese sentiment within the country.
