Huff Post has Gone Live...they stole Aloyna from RT..and are making Moves to scap up Talent

Do any DU'ers watch their "Live Blog" and what do you think about it?

It was just added to my ROKU Box and I wondered if other DU'ers are watching ...and if you are what do you think of it? To be fair I miss Alonya's indie voice on RT and I can't even find her on her new move to Huff Post. I think they nuked her... Same thing Huff Post did to Dan Froomkin..from WaPo...if anyone remembers his incredible blog that DU'ers used to read in the old days.

Here's a link....but, it's just to the show...but scroll around to see what it's all about.

Most people still prefer watching TV to their computer monitors..She is not on at set times.. I still like RT a hell of a lot better. RT coverage of the embassy attacks this past week was top notch. I miss Alyona's show a lot and have thought RT was on the upswing..

I'm sorry..but Huff Post live is lame and just not easy to watch.

If Olbermann really cares about his message--and could put some of his ego in the closet-- a show on RT without the commercial crap would be awesome---ok so I'm dreaming..

I miss Alyona!! But the effort to catch her on Huff Post Live is too much of a pain in the ass..

With ROKU the "add on of the Personal Channels"you can add to get Media Here...but also Irish, French, German, Korean, Asian, BBC, RT, CNN International, CNBC International, Canadian Broadcasting, and Chinese, Korean and other sites...and in English! Plus Bill Moyers, NPR/PBS NEWS and TED TALKS, NASA TV and so much more along with Cooking and Baking and CBS/ABC/MSNBC/CURRENT TV CLIPS..CLASSIC MOVIES, GAMING...all kind of stuff. You don't need cable unless you are a Sports Finatic...but some you can get if you pay subscription on ROKU/ APPLE TV or some other connections.

I would have probably "ended myself" if I hadn't gotten my ROKU box where I cut off my cable.

With NoWhereMan...add on you can get the cable news without the commericals (that were driving me crazie with the distraction and lack of production quality) and get the news with out that crap.

BTW: Google "ROKU BOX vs. Apple TV" on CNet Reviews....and it will give you some views of the difference in ease of use.

My blood pressure went down when I wasn't waiting to tune in to see what Chris Matthews and the rest of the Nightly MSNBC lineup was going to focus on ...every night.

Plus there just good international views to get me out of my MSM think here in the good old USA where we just get so programmed.

Re Oblermann, he has been tweeting a lot and has said the stories of him being difficult to get along with are not true at all. He claims this is part of a smear campaign against him.

Anything is possible being we're talking about the Corporate Media and even Current is very middle of the road, 'sensible' and 'safe'. I stopped watching after Keith left. Tyt are good but I can watch them online.

I think he would be a great addition to RT. So many great people on RT and I love the almost complete lack of Commercial interruptions which allows guests to have far more in depth discussions without worrying about being rudely interrupted.

right wingers get away with an distortions.

Haven't seen Travel Guy. I do love some of their documentaries also. And the fact that we see so many familiar Left voices who SHOULD be on the MSM, but are not.

Sam Seder too. And I hope they put Amy's Show, like Thom Hartmann's, on RT. I would probably see it a lot more often than I do if they did. I did see a great and very in depth interview with Amy Goodman on RT a few months ago.

I came here first thing in the am for news from 2004 until earlier this year. Now I go to RT first. Even Latest News doesn't measure up to the old days here. I think its because many have left and just don't post any more. I still get some news from here but not anywhere close to as much...seems folks just aren't as interested especially if it is negative re this administration. I maintain that the truth is good enough whether I like it or not. Max Keiser, Capitol Account, are great. I also watch Democracy Now online. I wish the programs were every day instead of every other day on RT but oh well.

I've watched HUFFPO live just because of Alyona and I think its going to be very good.

Who wouldn't want to be on the cutting edge of the "next big thing?" I don't think it was a good career gamble.. visibility diluted and all. But for her sake I hope I'm wrong..

I'd kind of hoped Kristine Frazao would get a show. She's smart and enjoyable to watch too. I'll have to give Abby Martin more of a chance--haven't seen a lot of "Breaking the Set" yet.

Her last show she had Glenn Greenwald on! One of DU's latest most hated and another of DU'eres most hated (these days) Dennis Kucinich!

Her mother was a famous Russian Olympic figure skater (I don't have time to give the background) but Alonya grew up out a second marriage and grew up in CA and was based in DC for her show. It was after she started doing clips of American MSM mostly CNN Trashes and Parodies of how imbicilic their reporting of national & international news was...than she got bought out by Huff Post.

Could be that Huff Post allowed her to move from DC to California or that she got so controversial trashing US MSM with her Parodies and also some Obama chastisement that it was time for the PTB to give her "An Offer She Couldn't Refuse." (remember the movie "The Godfather?&quot

Whatever it was...no matter how much I googled I couldn't find a reason for her departure from the Top Show on RT/US.

But, once she moved...she was marginalized. It's possible she's working in the "background" as a producer for Huff Post's new website....but, I still remember what Arianna did to ditch Dan Froomkin who was an incredible voice for blasting past the Talking Points and Crap the MSM was putting out for years at WaPo...and how she made him her big Whoopie Doo Washington News Editor...and we rarely heard from him again.

I don't know. Maybe I'm being too harsh and I remember defending Arianna when she got involved with AOL..against DU'ers who considered her a "Sell Out."

I think I was maybe wrong to defend her given the demise of Froomkin and Alonya...and who knows who else posts there who were shut down for opinions.

I hope I'm being too harsh...but, don't think so ..at this point.

because she wanted to ditch the 'Russian Propagandist', 'Kremlin Spokesperson', 'Ana Chapman.....', titles that followed her around everywhere. Its not like a mainstream network would hire her, so it was probably the best career move she could make. I doubt RT would shoot themselves in the foot by firing her. (It appears Jenny Churchill left RT for HP at the same time (although thats not much of a steal for HP)).

From what I've seen, Alyona makes her fellow HP anchors look like amateurs, has a greater share of the serious stories, and the toughest and most provocative questions. HP must know that 1/2 of their viewers are only there to watch Alyona.

Apparently at some point HP is supposed to make their site search-able, and post a schedule of when hosts are on.

here drive her off RT. The world is a different place today, these morons are in the minority on the Global stage and they need to be marginalized with their archaic commie garbage every time someone reports facts rather than the fiction they love so much on Fox.

RT has excellent ratings around the world, with or without Alyona but I hope she was not driven away, that it was a career move for her.

I sometimes post links from there on DU and get at least a few derogatory remarks by someone who wants to hijack the post....like its Russian propaganda etc. Guess what, I also watch Al Jazeera and learn more from those two news sources than I have for the last 10 years from msm. I also don't watch tv because of msm, it is not even hooked up in my house any longer..and never ever will be again. 3 years off the koolaid and real propaganda as far as I'm concerned.

At this point in time, I can pick out the medias current message by how many times someone regurgitates it to me in conversation. It is truly amazing.
