How can this EVEN be CLOSE?

Why on earth would anyone vote for someone who wants to cut his taxes to zero while sticking the REST OF US WITH THE TAB?

On edit: Are there really people out there who would go to dinner with a millionaire and want to pay the bill? How much more entitled do they think the rich should be? Maybe we should just build them a castle with a moat and the rest of that shit?

those who feel their marraige is threatened by gay/les

those who feel others are living off of them

those who are frightened that someone else get free health care

Both willful and not. I know a lot of otherwise rational people that only watch Fox News, which gives them a VERY skewed perception of reality to say the least, and I think that plays a large part in why they still haven't kicked this moron Romney to the curb, politically speaking.

I would be more than happy to have the government give the millionaire and billionaire bastards that think like Mitt a portion of the country and build the biggest fucking moat ever around their asses. The rest of us can then live without them. Guess what? We will do just fucking fine and build a better country without them.

11. Bigotry and exceptionalism
Tue Sep 18, 2012, 09:47 PM

from wiki:

Bigot: a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices

Exceptionalism: is the perception that a country, society, institution, movement, or time period is "exceptional" (i.e., unusual or extraordinary) in some way and thus does not need to conform to normal rules or general principles.

Both notions combine to lay the blame for all of societies ills at the feet of others, while reaping maximum benefit for the self.

12. I truly believe that racism is the #1 reason. I believe it with all my heart and with every fiber

of my being. It's racism. Period!

There is a reason why the Republican Party has been so successful at running "dog whistle" campaigns, using "Welfare Queen" and Willie Horton ads. That shit works. And it works because the electorate still has deeply rooted issues with race. As our country continues to diversify, things will only get worse until the bigots die off once and for all.

I always think racism, too. But they were just as vehemently against Kerry in '04. And I didn't understand it then, either.

Racism might be a component, but there is something else at work.

17. They hate Obama much more than John Kerry. There is no comparison. Kerry was also not a very strong

candidate.

The difference is this: Before Obama even won the primaries, they started with the hate, and it was mostly racially tinged rhetoric. Hillary and Bill Clinton should accept some responsibility for that.

Still, the hate for John Kerry is absolutely different from the hatred and disrespect shown towards this president.

They hated John Kerry because he is a Democrat who is moderately progressive.

They hate Barack Obama because is a Democrat who is moderately progressive and who is black!

15. There are basically two kinds of people in the world.
Tue Sep 18, 2012, 09:55 PM

And I have said this many times...

There are the people who look around and think to themselves, "The world would be a better place if everybody would take care of themselves."

And then there are people who look around and think, "The world would be a better place if we would all take care of each other."

Depending on which idea resonates with you, that's how you vote.
