Supporter complains to Paul Ryan: ‘Educated people’ are ‘telling me what to do’

A woman who said she had graduated from Harvard began crying on Tuesday as she told Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan that “educated people” were “telling me what to do.”

At a town hall event in Dover, New Hampshire, the woman, who said she was a first-generation American with parents from Yugoslavia and Romania, explained that she had moved from Los Angeles to Massachusetts to go to Harvard medical and dental school.

<...>

She continued: “I graduated in ’93 and I’ve been living in Massachusetts with very educated people, only to find out that it’s been really great but not the secret ingredient. They’ve been telling me what to do. I’ve been helping people, but they haven’t become my friends. It’s been really tough.”

<...>

The woman, who appeared to be white, added that “because of the color of my skin,” she was the “single most disadvantaged student” at Harvard.

She's from Romania and Yugoslavia and the color of her skin was a factor? In WHAT?

first generation American but in the next sentence she says she was glad she was allowed to come here.

OK which is it, were you born here or in Romania or Yugoslavia and arrived here as a child? This is significant because your place of birth is very important to RWs especially in rags to riches narratives where the person claims to have immigrated from a communist country.

It is also my opinion, and just an opinion, that the way she is dressed and her lack of even a hint of an accent from her parents, indicates that neither she nor her parents are immigrants and she never attended University at all, let alone Harvard. Furthermore Harvard has become a dog whistle for elitist prejudice against conservatives, that rings a loud bell for me.

Note also that Ryan picked her out of the crowd among many holding their hands up. It's a standard of magic shows and Multilevel Marketing scams, that when the guy on stage picks someone out of the audience that person is a shill.

Penn and Teller would give Ryan a giant fail on this one. Here's a link to what I mean about doing a trick without it appearing to be using a shill. Penn and Teller are libertarians and not fond of Obama so this is especially poignant.

Here's another example of convincing an audience that the person picked randomly from the audience.

Again Ryan = GIANT FAIL!!!

A Harvard education doesn't come with a guarrantee of friendships. You can be smart and still be a jerk.

Santorum: ‘We Will Never Have The Elite, Smart People On Our Side’

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – While speaking at this past weekend’s Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C., former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum told the crowd they would never have smart people siding with them politically.

“We will never have the elite, smart people on our side,” he said, “because they believe they should have the power to tell you what to do. So our colleges and universities, they’re not going to be on our side.”

If you're right, this is SO like Mitt's falling over himself to release the Libya thing immediately, and the press conference at 10 pm last night to explain his 47% comments... I would love to play poker with Romney campaign staffers, and I don't even play poker.
