Somewhere in America tonight there is a disabled Vietnam vet who was drafted in 1968 while Romney was in France, he doesn't pay any income taxes because our country felt it would be unseemly to tax the benefits he earned defending his country. Somewhere in America tonight there is a veteran of WW2 who went to college on the GI bill, worked hard and sent his kids to college as well, how he is in a nursing home on Medicaid, he doesn't pay any income taxes. Our country felt it would be unseemly to tax the 30 a month he has to spend on personal stuff. Somewhere in America tonight is a mom whose husband gave his life for our country and is working 40 hours a week at WalMart, she isn't paying any income taxes either. Our country felt it would be unseemly to tax someone who works fulltime but is still in poverty. Somewhere in Afghanistan is a young corporal who is defending our country, he isn't paying any income taxes as our country felt it would be unseemly to tax his combat pay. Under Ryan's plan, everywhere in America there would be equity fund managers not paying taxes despite having more wealth than King Midas could dream of, now that would be unseemly.
