It's time for Mitt Romney to prove he pays taxes
by NMDad

This is a pretty simple idea that won't take a lot of space to put forward.

In Mitt's fundraising video he slandered nearly half the country, referring to them as, to paraphrase, freeloading moochers who pay no income tax.

Well, I think it's time to renew our demands, to forcefully renew our demands, that Mitt Romney prove he's paid taxes. He is slandering American citizens. He, as a multi-millionaire, is smugly standing there among other millionaires and rudely defaming the poorest (and in my experience, often the hardest working) people in this country.

If he's going to say those people are only looking for a government hand out and use the lie that they "don't pay taxes" as a justification for vilifying them, then he needs to prove that he's paid his. This country needs to demand that Mitt Romney release his tax records immediately, and we need to do it loudly. And we need to never let up until he's either released them or he's lost the election.

Might Romney actually have tax records and could this all have been elaborate scheme to try to pull us in and then a sudden reveal where he actually does pay taxes?

No, that's just paranoia and fear of the Rove. Still, there has to be some kind of October surprise planned.

He probably even sees Rove as beneath him. Not that I don't agree. Rove is the shit I occasionally have to scrub off the soles of my shoes.

And I doubt we'll see them either....he'll hide it in the midst of all his other troubles. All he gave was a SUMMARY of his 2011 taxes.

after the election is over, we can prosecute him for tax evasion if appropriate. He has every right tro keep his taxes or lack thereof private and the Amrerican voter has every right to switch to Obama. Free choice- the American way. AsJesus said, you are know by your actions. Bye Bye Mitt.

Since he's criticizing people for not paying income tax, it is incumbent on him to demonstrate that he has been doing so himself.

I don't know why but Democrats at levels that count aren't pushing it(Obama campaign), of course msm won't and the rethug campaign doesnt care about, "you people", "those people" saying anything about their 'great leader'. Period

that a recent segment on TRMS (09/17 or 09/18, about a 1/2 hour in) has not gotten more traction/notice ...

She played a clip from the gop primary where romney was being critical of the gingrich tax reform plan that would eliminate capital gains taxes completely ... romney's response:

"Well, under your plan I would have paid no taxes!" (or something to that effect)

So there you have it ... romney paid ZERO in Federal Income taxes, his sole tax liability was via capital gains taxes (i.e., at 15%).

How damaging to his campaign would it be if the clip were shown widely and clearly explained that by his own mouth ... he, a multi-multi millionaire, is a member of that 47% cohort?

Yes ... It is time for Senator Reid to step back up to the mic ... his silence, on the subject, is "interesting" to me.
