My Brain Spinning. Did I pay taxes on top of my own taxes?

Ok, working at an Non-Profit Agency for the disabled my wages were paid from taxes (Medicaid). I paid payroll and income taxes on my wages.

Working in Public Schools my wages were paid from local, state, and federal taxes. I paid payroll and income taxes on my wages.

Since I paid taxes on my wages, and my wages came from taxes, was I paying taxes on my own taxes?

I feel like smacking Mittens right now for even making me THINK of this.
