OMFricking Gawd Holy Shi-ite WOWZA this is gonna make you JUMP WITH GLEE!!!!!

Well if you are a democrat that is!!

The Obama bump is starting to kick in for the senate races:
http://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2012/Senate/Maps/Sep18-s.html

WISCONSIN: AHEAD!!!
MONTANA: AHEAD!!!
MASSACHUSETTS: AHEAD!!!
INDIANA: AHEAD!!!
VIRGINIA: AHEAD!!!

We got close races in Tennessee, Arizona, Connecticut and Nevada - I think we should be able to win some of those states too!

Then we have the Maine situation - let's hope Angus King, a progressive, sides with us. He's remaining coy but he is an obama supporter.

If the elections were held today it would be 51-46-2 with the tie in Connecticut. THe 2 would be Sanders, who sides with Dems and hopefully King who will also side with us!

Folks we have GOT to start talking more about these senate races!!!

It's been their monkey-wrenching of the GOP that's set it tumbling and stumbling. Who knows if the GOP will EVER recover from it's froolish embracement of the haters that make up the TP and the Religious Right. Thu Sep 20, 2012, 01:20 AM
Sep 2012

All our statewide offices are currently held by Dems. It's a very Libertarian state. Obama is not popular and up until 2010 our legislature was pretty much split down the middle. The pukes rode the wave of anti-Obama and anti-Obamacare and killed us in the state legislature. We also have an attorney general (Steve Bullock, who is running for Governor) that has been trying to defend our campaign laws against the onslaught of corporate money. The Democrat who is running to replace him is Pam Bucy and she is facing an unprecedented amount of corporate money against her. The one saving grace that I think we have here this particular election season is that people are NOT happy about the corporate money and the attack on our campaign laws. There is a symbolic ballot initiative that is anticipated to pass that will be condemning Citizens United.
Pam Bucy, in particular can use all the help that anyone can give. http://pambucy.com/
We also have a decent shot to take the MOntana congressional seat. A recent poll put Democrat Kim Gillan only 3 points behind the Republican for the open seat being vacated by Dennis Rehberg, who is running against Tester. This has put our congressional race on the radar for national Democratic organizations. http://www.gillanforcongress.com/

Thing is this - Dems don't demand 100% loyality to the party. They've always tried to keep that open tent that would allow people like Manchin from WV or the Nelsons (both NE and FL although NE is retiring) to serve as democrats even though many times they would vote against us.

A long time ago our representatives in congress use to vote in a way that would best serve their states and NOT based on Lobbying dollars. We need that kind of congress again but I think the tea party has ruined it for the GOP.

Heidi Heitkamp, the former Attorney General for ND, is running for Kent Conrad's(D) open seat in the Senate against Rick Berg. She is closing the gap, and due to that, there has been an influx of PAC money being spent on Berg.

I've donated to her campaign, and I have my fingers crossed.

The Democratic candidate, Mark Clayton, is actually an anti-gay tea party nut. He has been denounced by the state Democratic Party. He won 30% of the vote in a seven person primary. The state party chairman has urged Democrats to wage a write-in campaign "for a candidate of their choice" in the Nov. 6 general election.

He is running against Bob Corker.

Right now it appears we have two choices and both are bad.

And the DSSS has always supported Bernie Sanders

against the constituents of "the volunteer state." He also was one of the first to step out against saving the auto industry because he was protecting Nissan's interests, and was willing to help throw out the pensions and health benefits for long-term factory workers of north if that is what it took.

Don't get me wrong, I have two Nissans, but I strongly supported saving the jobs of workers in Detroit and the other states involved in manufacturing cars. There is room for both in these United States.

Nissan at that time was ticked off because the union was starting to influence workers at Nissan factories in Tennessee to unionize. Nissan couldn't have any of that.

Tennessee Democratic Party is a mess and didn't even get word out to the voters about the anti-LGBT Mark Clayton.

Clayton was nominated because his was the first name on the list, period. I knew enough to vote for Park Overall, but, honestly, I didn't see not ONE ad explaining who the candidates were and the only independent articles regarding the candidates were sparse.

It's a shame, really.

..especially with Bernie Sanders, a "neighbor" Senator, to work with.

The way I see it, it's 53-46 with Connecticut still to be decided.

"Insider" information (can't say where or from whom) is that there's an "October Surprise" to be sprung in a couple of weeks regarding McMahon - I'll bet it's juicy!!

The map cites Rassmussen in ND and other polling shows it to be very close. The "R" had a foot in mouth comment that hurt him quite badly. I hope they throw some money into that race because i believe it can now be won.

I was told this was a tea partier that ran in a crowded TN Dem primary. Even the DSSS is not supporting this guy.

But the numbers from the tie in Connecticut were BEFORE the RNC Convention. If Warren is picking up steam in Massachusetts then I think we can put Connecticut in our win column too!

The Connecticut post in the link I had used above was from 8/26 which was the monday of the RNC convention. That's hardly a good gauge of what is happening up there in Connecticut. I mean Elizabeth Warren was behind on 8/26 and now she is surging.

But I do know Murphy has a few skeletons in his closest with financial issues but hell, I trust someone like that way more than some multi-millionaire who doesn't have a clue what it's like to struggle.

Which is, of course, the number of votes needed to break a filibuster. However, if enough Tea Party types get rebuked by the electorate, maybe, just maybe it will shake up the republican party enough to actually get them moving toward Eisenhowerland again as opposed to whatever far-out evil cartoon galaxy they are proselytizing from now.

Thu Sep 20, 2012, 08:31 AM
Sep 2012

Specter got chased out of his party and then lost to Pat Toomey. Mike Castle got beat in a closed primary to a dingbat Tea Partier who fortunately went on to lose by 17pts to Chris Coons (in a raise that was safe GOP when Castle was thought to win the nomination).

I remember the days when people voted on what was best for their state and NOT what was best for their lobbyists. I miss those days.

I can't speak for the whole state, but Nashville (one of two severely left-leaning areas with Memphis) using voting machines that have been proven to be rigged, Obama has no chance to win this state. The worst part is, even after the machines were shown to be rigged, the election commission still won't block their use. Really hate living in a deep red state sometimes.
