Jennifer Parker Why would we want to put those veterans to work so they could pay taxes which might help with the deficit.

Diana Campbell Roberts SHAME on the GOP. This bill was fully funded & most of it was written by the GOP! Actions speak louder than words...and today the GOP just flipped off all of our brave Veterans.

Joana K. Johnson Republicans are going to create jobs (by saying NO to them) and decrease the deficit (by letting the richest people in the world pay virtually no taxes while bankrupting the middle and lower by making them shoulder the debt). AWESOME! vote romney/ryan!!! their ideas are SOOOO awesome.

Emily Nixon i'm sad about it, but not surprised. it just shows that not only does the GOP not care about the troops (except for when they're needed to fight their wars) but they don't really care about americans finding jobs, either. they just use it as a talking point whenever they need a reason to make president obama look bad.

Bobby Boarder "These obstructionist Republican assholes need to be removed from office effective immediately!!! They hate Obama more than they love America!!! The Tea Party Republicans in congress would rather see America burn to the ground economically than contribute to it's recovery in any way. WTF?!?! What are we paying these idiots for? They clearly aren't doing the jobs they have been elected to do. They need to be arrested for their treasonist actions!!!"

Barbara Cooper-Kemp So. Because the GOP feels the bill to help our VETERANS might make the President look good, they choose instead to let the Vets suffer. Does anyone else see what a piss poor job this Congress is doing? Do we really want to re-elect them into office. They would rather let the American people suffer than do something that make reflect positively on Obama. Get these fools out of office!

Ally Cat Rah rah the troops, well until they come home. Shameful! Yet they cry about cutting dept. of defense because that would reduce the $100's billions that go to their private military corporations. Yeah tell me it's about the "spending". Are people still buying this crap? They had not problem shoveling almost $1trillion to Haliburton and Blackwater.

Elizabeth Sweet Guess they see veterans as part of, to paraphrase Romney, the lazy 47% of freeloaders looking for a handout. Which (along with the idea that half of the country are freeloaders) is outrageous and shameful.

Kim Sullivan-Hofmann We didn't know if the G. I. Bill would work either-- And how come the GOP doesn't want to spend money to create jobs and in this case help Veterans but tax cuts for the rich is ok and subsidies for big oil is ok GOP YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!!

Mac Miller For the last year I have watched as politicians have slighted, ignored and plotted against the very people who keep this country free. Betting and arresting veterans who dare speak out against the sickness of greed and empire that infects this nation. They view veterans as a pawn in their games of power and privilege.

Monday, September 17, the first group subjected to mass arrest were members
of Veterans for Peace. These politicians have voted to take away combat pay for our sons and daughters, our loved ones who answered the call and been sent to fight in an endless war. Daily more service members and veterans who have been forgotten by these politicians take their own lives. Now they are building plans to dismantle the Veterans Administration and begin privatizing parts of that system and throwing veterans into the private sector for health and mental care. A private sector not trained nor equipped to deal with the wounds of war.

Now they refuse to give those who have fought their battles, those who have witnessed the horrors of war the least amount of help in getting a job that would not only help them stand proud again, but jobs that need done in our country. We veterans are lumped into the masses they consider to be moochers and dead beats. I Know I fit into Gov. Romney's demographic. I'm a disabled veteran. But I am not alone. There are over 22 million veterans in this nation.

No scorn is too great to heap upon these jackals and carrion birds. They reap the rewards of death and destruction and toss the broken minds and bodies who won this for them onto the dung heap of history. No effort is too great to ensure these these looters of the battle fields are purged from our society.

Sharon Kutzschbach The CCC and WPA worked during the Great Depression to provide jobs by building infrastructure and preserving American heritage through art, recordings of music and eye witness accounts of important events, among other things. Exactly what about this is untried and 'nobody knows if it works'?

we have to let the American People know what these Repugs are doing. Got to tell them it will only be more of the same if Rmoney gets elected or the Repugs take over Congress. We need to really kick the Repugs now that they are down and be relentless in putting out this message. If the shoe were on the other foot - they wouldn 't hesitate.
