Gallup just released a poll saying that 29% of independent voters are LESS likely to vote for Romney after his 47% remarks vs. 15% who are MORE likely to vote for him.
That's right, Romney's remarks are driving independent voters away from him by a ratio of 2 to 1!

There are other numbers, but the exciting ones are those for the independent voters, since that's the group we're fighting for. As you'd expect, the comments polarize Democratic and Republican voters, with people who were going to vote for him anyway now saying they're MORE likely to vote for him and vice versa. Big deal.
But the fact remains that those numbers for the independent voters must have the GOP spin doctors shitting their pants right now.
Another hilarious thing I noticed was that I just saw CNN and FOX report on the same poll. CNN rightly highlighted the fact that Romney's remarks make more people LESS likely to vote for him than MORE likely to vote for him. Meanwhile, over at Fox, they did their best to suggest Romney's comments were a tempest in a teapot, because 'half the voters say the remarks make NO DIFFERENCE..." HAH! Too funny! Nice try, guys.

I think we went through all this when the Right Wing Noise Machine was spinning the number of "independents" who were against Obama's health care plan. As it turned out, around 15% of the independents were independent because they thought even the GOP was a gang of gay communists.
