Is there a tipping point in the polls for Romney's corporate donors?

Is there a possible Obama polling lead large enough to cause Mitt's checkwriters to say "forget it...he's not worth the investment at this stage..."?

I'm just wondering if they'd decide to triage the campaign and focus, say, on preserving the Boehnerhaus?

Yes there definitely is IMO. Although, it's hard to know exactly what the tipping point is. Cali_Democrat Sep 2012 #4

If Romney continues on a fast path to self-destruction, and President Obama has it safely in the bag at some point in the not-too-distant-future, perhaps available resources should be redirected to help toward winning progressive House and Senate races. For starters, let's send Cantor and Bachmann packing.

The latest Fox News poll showing Obama with good leads in VA, FL and OH are definitely not something Romney's backers want to see.

Rich assholes like that are very stingy with their money. They view Romney as an investment. If they know the stock will be worth zero in November, they won't invest.

The money can always be used to simply steal the election. But if the WH appears to be unattainable the super pacs will redouble their efforts in the House and Senate...

The time is coming soon because securing ad space requires a bit of lead time. Another week or two and if he is behind and falling further behind, the smart money will shift to other races.

I want them to double down. I want them to pour so much money down the sinkhole, that they will be the ones that initiate a political movement to implement spending caps on campaigns.

I want it to be so painful that the repeal of Citizens United will be "their" idea.
