The New York AG's office hasn't taken jurisdiction over the NRA's possible crimes.

Last edited Thu Aug 6, 2020, 01:06 PM - Edit history (2)

This is a civil action to dissolve the NRA and sue the individual defendants who violated state laws governing nonprofit organizations, not a criminal matter. There seem to be some misunderstandings about what is going on here, and expressions of disappointment that nobody's been indicted. The NY AG has stated that if they discover possible crimes in the course of their continued investigation they will refer them to the Manhattan DA and the IRS. So please don't go off on her for not charging anybody with crimes. That's not what's going on here.

.. back every penny. Maybe they dont want the entire NRA to be pissed at them. Sometimes having to work as a customer greeter at piggly wiggly or walmart is worse than jail ( unless thats the only way to put food on your table then its a godsend).

It was impossible to have a rational discussion about gun control as long as they existed and had so many GOP politicians by the short hairs.

Here's a shady story from DKOS on the suspected corruption of Cy Vance.

Cy Vance is also handling the Trump/Deutsch Bank case.

FROM Oct, 2018

FBI looking at Manhattan district attorney's office over potential undue influence in handling of cases: sources
The Manhattan Democratic DA failed to bring criminal charges against two of President Trump’s children in an alleged real estate scam. DA Cy Vance, Jr. is the son of the late former Secretary of State Cyrus Vance under Jimmy Carter.

And here's an excerpt from one of them:

Criminal Enforcement and Financial Crimes Bureau
The Attorney General's unique statewide criminal jurisdiction enables the Criminal Enforcement and Financial Crimes Bureau (“CEFC” or “the Bureau”) to address criminal conduct throughout New York State, including complex financial crimes which cross county lines. The Bureau includes attorneys and analysts who, together with designated investigators and auditors, conduct in-depth, long-term criminal investigations and prosecute cases from charging through conviction. The Bureau's main office is located in New York City, with additional offices in Albany, Buffalo and Syracuse.

over the NRA's actions, and are pursuing the matter only as a civil action to dissolve the organization and sue the four miscreants. In most states the AG's office doesn't act as a prosecutor except under certain specific circumstances. Letitia James stated that they would refer any potential crimes to the Manhattan DA and tax fraud to the IRS.

and wouldn't dare fudge another Trump-related investigation, especially knowing that Trump could be gone in a few months.
