Donald Trumps HBO interview with Jonathan Swan of Axios contained a number of jaw-dropping moments.
Trump bluntly dismissed the late Rep. John Lewis, a civil rights icon, while offering well-wishes for Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime associate of child sex predator Jeffrey Epstein, who is in custody and facing her own charges.
But Swan said on MSNBC on Tuesday that the moment that stood out to him was the wild back-and-forth they had on the coronavirus pandemic.
He is not confronting reality when it comes to the virus, Swan said. And he is reaching for data points that are good for publicity or sound good, but are not actually the best metrics for revealing whats going on in this country.

(82,849 posts)When Trump claimed that Swan couldn't frame the catastrophe of the pandemic in a way that didn't make Trump look good, Swan just said, "Why not?" Dear reporters: You don't have to adopt whatever assumptions Trump wants to use to make himself look good. You can sign on to reality and analyze reality through facts instead of Trump's self-serving nonsense.

(16,920 posts)I'm hoping that this interview, as well as the one with Chris Wallace, has opened the eyes of journalists working on covering BunkerBoy. Of course, as one wrote in Esquire recently, "I guess that's why my name isn't on "the list" of who's granted interviews" (while talking about reporters who take a "friendly" stance while talking to BunkerBoy and DO NOT hit him with follow-up questions - questions that push deep into the bullshit being spewed by BunkerBoy - and not accepted by the interviewer.)
And after this fiasco, BunkerBoy may "always be busy working" (meaning: GOLFING!) and not have time for these pesky interviews with people that don't respect or understand his brilliance......

(30,717 posts)the simple graphs I taught to kids in my computer classes years ago. I had some resource room kids who were freshmen. I taught them how to make bar graphs and circle graphs. They had fun, and they learned a little bit of math.

(7,402 posts)You can't get an accurate measurement. That is why Trump's matrix is invalid. Even with deaths some variance occurs because some people that died from complications have things like pneumonia listed rather than complications of Covid-19 so there is some under reporting issues with death as well. Even then Trump was using data that was a few weeks old and a lot happened in those two weeks.

(16,920 posts)hospitals are claiming every death as being COVID-19 related. That way they get more federal money.
There can't really be that many deaths from a "hoax" - can there?
(DAMNED Hillary probably told them to do that in one of her e-mails!)

It's nuts.
