It looks like Biden is going to announce his running mate in the next couple of days.

I received an email about a virtual event on Sunday August 9th that seems to say his pick will be participating.

I’ll be glad when this VP speculation is over and we can all focus on November.

3. I'm tired of all the talk about his VP choice

but it has kept his name in the news, which is good. Trump tends to dominate every news cycle.

Once he has announced his choice, hopefully that will generate more Biden coverage!

It was to bump Trump from the news and lead some cycles to Biden.

It's how it's done if you want to win. And Biden definitely is in it to win it.

Nothing is the given some here pretend. We're still having to work all our tushies off like never before!

an incumbent, who is naturally going to be in the news already and if that incumbent is Donald Trump, he will be in the news even more. I kind of figured the Biden campaign would draw this story out to generate some coverage. Good for them. We can wait a little longer.

I remember the excitement when Obama was deciding who his VP would be. There were reporters camped outside of Biden's house waiting for some sign. I think Obama dragged that one out intentionally.

I wish Biden would have drug this out a bit longer. He needs the added press attention from this. Which is just my opinion.

Rallies or not conventional thinking would have been to do it on a weekday. They picked a Saturday for whatever reason.

11. I think the Democratic Convention was going to start a few days later

So a weekday would have meant announcing earlier than he did.

I think it was just part of the whole thing leading into the Democratic Convention.

I'm not sure if anything else was going on at the time where they put off announcing earlier than they did.

But looking back it wouldn't have made any difference.
