Tax returns

Wondering who else has been wondering where your refunds are. I am at 4 months since filling. Went to IRS2Go and IRS site. Will not accept my entry. Called my tax preparer today. She called IRS yesterday, they are 4 to 6 months behind. Understaffed. More GOP fuckery. Like Post Offices. Those refunds could help people hurting bad and go back into economy. GOP do not give a fuck about people. Nor one fuck, and trump is at his course for 3 day break. But his cult is fine with it.

I was pleasantly surprised it was that fast because I was expecting a delay, but it was about the same time frame as other years.

2. I filed electronically in April and didn't get my refund until a couple of weeks ago

My IRS refund status page said “Return accepted” for months until mid July, when it changed To “In process”, and then a few days later to “refund sent to your bank” or something like that.

I did paper. Never in my long life waited more than 6 weeks. I was beginning to think this crime machine would keep refunds as emergency cash, like they wish they can do with SS trust. They would do that.

4. You can check your refund status online at the IRS website.

I checked on April 2 and it told me to expect the refund on April 5.

You need to know the exact refund expected from your tax return.

Not sure why they require that exact amount as mine was actually more when it came through.

Multiple times with the exact data. Mine and my daughter. On IRS site AND IRS2Go. Multiple times today, extremely careful with exact figures. Both sites just said info does not match. Just 3 things, SS, status filed, exact amount. There were NO errors. Hard to not enter this things exact.

try another day and hang up on me. I put info in and it says they cannot give me any information on what I provided. Everything about this is wrong. My son did mine and he checked and somehow said I was suppose to get April 23. But, they didn't have my new address in for stimulus. I have my new address on the return. So, I do not know.

Did Trump not assign an overloaded to IRS to protect his tax info? Like he is F,ing USPS. This is starting to look more like NRA instead of IRS.

14. I wonder how much it matters exactly which one of the IRS regional offices

your return goes to. I filed March 23rd, and got both of my returns (state and federal) in less than a week. I did file before the IRS shut down, fortunately, which helped. But they still came through a lot faster than I'd expected.

I'm going to guess that different regional offices have gone back to work at different times and with different numbers of employees, meaning some will have a far greater backlog than others.

That's only a guess.

State employees in North Carolina have an exemption state tax on State Retirement if you started before 1982, so I only get refunds with Feds. You still have to file with both. I did not know about regional Fed IRS. Thought it all went to same locale. You may be on to something there. Hope some regions are not Trump cultists opposed to other areas, and read DU as spies🤨 to revenge God’s BFF orange saint.

I just spent 15 minutes trying to see if I could find a comprehensive list, but no luck. Your return would go to whichever location services your zip code.
