Honestly I don't know of anything in the Star Trek universe that comes very close to today's GOP.

And the Vorta don't appear to treat the women as second class citizens like Republicans err Ferengi do. All the different races in the Star Trek universe have redeeming qualities, except maybe the Borg I can't think of anything good about them. But, I don't think Republicans are Borg, they just seem a lot more evil than that. Borg don't seem evil so much to me as amoral.

I compare the GOP in general to Pakleds. They aren't too bright, but can still be cunning and ruthless in taking what they want from others.
