I think on many levels S E Cupp represents what is wrong with punditry but on this she is right. Unlike Chris Hayes who will have no professional blowback, she likely will suffer professional blow back. Conservative political commentator S.E. Cupp announced Tuesday that she is declining her invitation to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference until it allows groups that advocate for gay marriage.
I go to CPAC every year. I love speaking there. Its a great opportunity for conservatives, young and old from all over the world, to get together and sort of touch base, Ms. Cupp said on MSNBCs The Cycle.
Prominent groups that represent gay Republicans such as GOProud and the Log Cabin Republicans are permitted to attend the event, but not to sponsor it.

(23,926 posts)And I do so largely for the reason you so perceptively noted; ie: she WILL receive professional blowback for not toeing the party line, but she did it anyway.

(6,890 posts)She is sort of the "next generation" of Republicans and many are changing their views on same sex couples. It was always a religious issue as most corporate types could care less.
