(86,031 posts)"To punish you for voting for this guy."... what I've been saying since the election. Not only should an image of mItch be there, you could also add the Kochheads.

Or this woman:
Hell, I'd vote for this guy if he had a "D" after his name.
If we set out to find a bad one he'd be better than the best they could do.

And the guy gettin' his ass chewed knows how it feels too.
I've got kind of a crush on her.

(31,706 posts)...the rushpublican mantra is "the problem of government IS government"...then they do all they can to prove that point...enriching themselves and their deep pocket puppetmasters in the process. Their hopes are the more the government sucks the more people will want to destroy the government...privatize and outsource everything and have a "pay-as-you-go" society.
Looks like the tactic de jour is creating a crisis every month or so that so absorbs the beltway chattering class that there's little time to pass any other of the President's agenda. Everything will be slow walked and stonewalled at every turn. They don't need filibusters, just more "deadlines" and cliffs and attempting to blackmail the economy. The hope is that in two years you'll be so fatigued with this shit you'll be turned off of politics and stay home...low turnout and voter apathy and frustration are the rushpublicans only hope to win...

(75,480 posts)We need to find a way to fix this and kick those neo-cons and tea baggers out somehow. Impeachment? Indictment for crimes of treason? Groups civil lawsuits? I mean using any means to get them to pack their bags. Don't forget to put Kevin McCarthy up there with those other three.
I wish we had enough evidence on all of them to arrest them at their home base before they come back to Washington after this weekend of infamy.

(75,480 posts)I'm referring to Congress, which is what this is about. We need to do something with Congress and you can't deny they are dysfunctional and many of them corrupt. We have some great members of Congress, however, the corrupt ones are making our government dysfunctional.

(110,900 posts)including naming it "sequestration," something he knew the average voter wouldn't understand.
Unfortunately, the average voter is going to understand rather quickly that the government isn't functioning the way it should and if he owns a business, his business will start to do poorly.
Call it what you want to, Phil, austerity is austerity and you can't starve people into prosperity.

(38,893 posts)which is why banks and wall street continue for years to go unregulated and continuously bailed out ($83 billion last year, same $$$ as they're slashing social programs for the poor under the scam "sequester", which means it's actually "austerity" as seen in Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy...).
This is what happens when you stand up and peacefully petition your government for Change regarding income inequality and bank/wall street regulation. Please let this sink in:
