Dick Cheney Tears Into Condoleeza Rice For NOT Bowing To His Will

Dick Cheney Tears Into Condoleeza Rice

In an upcoming documentary about the legacy of Dick Cheney, Foreign Policy notes the former vice president lashes out at Condoleezza Rice for overriding his recommendation to bomb a suspected Syrian nuclear reactor in 2007.

Said Cheney: "I thought (destroying the reactor) would reassert the kind of authority and influence we had back in '03 when we took down Saddam Hussein and eliminated Iraq as a potential source of WMD. Condi was on the wrong side of all those issues so we had significant issues."

"In his 2011 memoir In My Time, Cheney called the former diplomat 'naive' for her attempts to negotiate with North Korea and said she once 'tearfully admitted' her mistakes to him in his office."

This is going to be one of those Woodward moments. Cheney was probably berating her unmercifully, and she exploded all over him. "I regret being stupid enough to grant you the opportunity to talk to me like this!" and stormed out.

Rice was a decent Secretary of State, and Cheney is an egomaniac who cannot conceive what it would be like to admit being wrong.

"we took down Saddam Hussein and eliminated Iraq as a potential source of WMD." Seriously? You actually want us to believe you after it has been well verified you are a liar?

As I recall you were not saying Iraq was a "potential" threat when you were in office. You said they were a real, serious and immediate threat to the US. Of course the fact Iraq is on the other side of the world from the US and had absolutely no capability to be a military threat to the US didn't really deter you from spouting bullshit Mr. Cheney. And for goodness sakes could you finally admit that Saddam had nothing to do with the attacks of 9-11? The entirety of the US's intelligence agencies have said as much. I'm sure it's inconvenient for you to perhaps admit that the majority of the attackers from 9-11 were Saudis and not Iraqis. So why didn't you propose invading Saudi Arabia in defense of the US?

Please go pound sand.

You would think by 2007 she would have figured out that she really had no authority, credibility or clout as S of S and maybe she did figure it out. But she was way too enamored of the title and the perks that went with it to tell cheney to go fuck himself.

So if in fact this really happened I don't feel one bit sorry for her. She knew he was a snake before she signed up.

"back in ... '03 when we took down Saddam Hussein and...

...eliminated Iraq as a potential source of WMD."

It's a direct quote form the Man himself, stating that either he is lying about the success of the first Iraq war, or lying about the need for the second. Both of those things CANNOT BE TRUE.

Arrest him now, and toss him to the Hague.
