(37,540 posts)Should be forced to listen and then explain to the American people why this man is wrong. My guess is that they couldn't possiby explain their defense of their actions.

(96,793 posts)The media has largely ignored Tomas's story. Even local media here in KC has ignored him. It's shameful.

(18,866 posts)Or are there more than one of these poor guys in the news right now.
The picture on the front page was so poignant. What a sad, sad end to a life.

(96,793 posts)It was a nice piece. And Mary Ohalloran (sp?) mentioned Tomas on Ruckus last night.

(9,111 posts)I remember the l'il draft dodger joking with amputees at Ft. Hood about getting a 'wound' from clearing brush at his photo-op Waco ranch.
Mr. Young is still serving our country, and the rest of the world.

(18,866 posts)That just broke my heart.
So many young men and women just like him out there. And for what?

(9,111 posts)where Tom Lee Jones' character is stuck for something to say to an amputee that he met in the VA hospital, so he says 'thank you for your service' to her. Then he sees two other amputees, so he thanks them for their service. He picks up his pace, because he has an urgent need to get out of there. He goes down the hall and passes room after room with amputees, then the day room full of amputees, then winds up in the facilities' huge parking lot, full of cars, looking around bewilderedly.
I just saw a Ted Rall cartoon that quotes the stat that 22 vets a day are committing suicide now. Where are all the pro-war right wingers who used the phrase 'Support our Troops!' to back starting the war, and to shut the anti-war side up? It sounded good to them at the time, and they got what they wanted, so they're satisfied, and won't be called to account for the results of their strategies.
Draft-dodger Cheney's Halliburton stock options are doing well. Thank goodness the repugs shot down the proposal that any company found to have ripped off the taxpayers of $100 million dollars would be ineligible to get any further governmental contracts.
In a just world, Cheney's funds would be seized, and given to Mr. Young and the IVAW to administer, to support our troops.

(9,111 posts)a sociopath.
But I hear he paints watercolors. That's sure to rehabilitate his image. In 20 years, we'll hear from the repugs how l'il bush is the greatest prez in history, like we're hearing about Raygun now.
