Husband Threatens Custody Suit After Ex-wife Befriends 'Known Homosexual'

Here's one for the books. A Roman Catholic father in Maryland has asked his lawyer, Paul C. Sullivan, to pen one of the most horrific pieces of undeniable bigotry that I have seen in recent years.

Ed Taylor and Kelly Robertson were married, had two sons and then divorced (as has been known to happen). Kelly was awarded custody of the children, with visitation rights for Ed. Since then, it seems that Kelly has become friends with a gay man, Chris. Kelly has since remarried, and she sometimes asks Chris to babysit her kids (as has been known to happen).

Apparently, that's not OK with ultra-Catholic Ed. The following letter was sent to Kelly with regard to her parenting. In the letter, Paul Sullivan engages in a homophobic tirade ignorantly linking being gay with being a child predator, claiming that by having a gay person around the house, Kelly is "encouraging a homosexual lifestyle," and threatening investigations and custody trials should Kelly not reverse the child's dangerous course.

Additionally, the lawyer and father have been in communication with the sheriff, the county commissioners, the vice principal and the guidance counselor of the middle school that Kelly's son attends.

I don't understand how in the world he ended up being divorced.

that the 'bar' is set far too low for lawyerin' nowadays. It's bad enough that a homophobic hothead is going around spouting hatred to anyone who will listen, but you would think an attorney would know better. If only there were 'three strikes' laws for stupid lawyers who file frivolous, baseless lawsuits.

Worth extra attention are custody battles in which domestic abuse is an issue. It's a sickening, sad industry which sometimes ends up in tragedy.

It's a shame that much of the preparation for lawyerin' includes appeals to emotion that have no basis in fact.

as it is to engage in homosexual acts.

They're both grave wrongs in Catholic doctrine, and any sex after divorce is considered adultery.

Just sayin', Mr. Taylor.

i'm certainly not suggesting all priests (or even most, or even the vast majority) are pedophiles but statistically the boys are more likely to be in danger @ the RCC.

One of the reasons for my divorce was ireconsilable differences. Mainly my liberal beliefs clashing with his growing conservative christianity.
After our divorce he tried to revoke custody of our son. Saying to me that my friends where gay tattooed nipple pierced freaks.and that I was going to hell. And that the bible stated gays should not be suffered to live.
Needless to say he did not have a leg to stand on.
I cannot imagine what type of bigoted person my son would be if he had his way!!!

is a religious nutjob. His website has such uplifting Bible verses such as this on it:

Ephesians 5:23 (New International Version)

23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.

1 Corinthians 11:3 (New International Version)

3 Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

http://www.paulcsullivanpa.com/

It also has all these links to "marriage miracles", etc.

This Ed the ex-husband character also made a youtube video calling his ex-wife a "drug slut". It's breathtakingly clear why she divorced him! What a horrible thing to call the mother of your children. He's a terrible excuse for a human being and needs to NEVER be in the position of a role model for young men if that's his attitude towards a woman he once married and who is now raising his children.

If he wants to look for child predators, perhaps he should check out his church. There's a clear correlation between ultra-conservative Christians and child predators. There's pretty much zilch to tie gays and child predators. It's a myth. He needs to grow up and get over it and that lawyer of his needs to find a real job.
