If the Attorney General of the State of California is not here to defend this enactment, why should the court even bother to listen to the petitioners; Do they even have standing?

This gives them an out, lets them not make a broad ruling, allows the 9th circuit ruling to stand and Prop 8 falls but has no relief for me in Oklahoma.

I don't love the argument on standing at all.

It's a freaking dodge.
