SCALIA "Gay marriage? Well, homosexual sodomy is an easy one for the judge. He says, If we cannot have moral feeling against homosexuality, can we have it against murder? Can we have it against other things?
The first one is two people doing what they both WANT to do .... no one gets hurt ... in fact they have a jolly good time/
The Second is forceful taking of life - which presumably was against the will of the person killed.
the fact a man thinks that both are somehow similar .... is 1) considered smart and 2) has so much power over me ... scares me shitless.
Who the FUCK is this guy??????

Of course you can have moral feeling about all sorts of things - that's freedom of conscious. Anybody is allowed to believe homosexuality is wrong if they so choose. But at what point do you get to impose your moral feelings on the society at large? Only when the action clearly violates someone else's freedoms.

(100,035 posts)I'd use "scholar" and "wit" to define someone like Steve Martin, but not for Scalia. The words "old, bigoted, hate mongering, self absorbed, hypocritical jackass" would be more accurate to describe Scalia.
