Of course you can have moral feeling about all sorts of things - that's freedom of conscious. Anybody is allowed to believe homosexuality is wrong if they so choose. But at what point do you get to impose your moral feelings on the society at large? Only when the action clearly violates someone else's freedoms.

I'd use "scholar" and "wit" to define someone like Steve Martin, but not for Scalia. The words "old, bigoted, hate mongering, self absorbed, hypocritical jackass" would be more accurate to describe Scalia.

That he can get away with making these kinds of public statements and still remain on the highest court in the land.

Where is the outrage from the elected leaders we put in office?
