Nail on the head.

Guns scare me, so I don't have one - no one in my family has one. I live in an area where there a lot of hunters - and most of the reasonably intelligent ones I know support stronger gun control. I really think it's only a small group of vocal fanatics, NRA money - and the greed of politicians that's keeping us from going forward with better legislation. It's depressing.

I remember that talk of the Bush years - it seems that following government blindly is awesome when it's a republican president. When it's a democrat though... lock your children behind closed doors (hell, put em in the closet!), stock up on guns and ammo and canned goods (zombie apocalypse is coming... Obama is the AntiChrist that will lead them!), glare suspiciously at neighboring liberals (especially the little old lady with all the cats... she's up to something) and read your bible daily (because that Jesus guy said we should have guns. Lots of guns. It's all in there somewhere)
