A Mount Rainier expedition guide company spokesperson said on Saturday six people were missing on the 14,410ft mountain in Washington state.

Two guides from Alpine Ascents International and four guests, all skilled, male climbers, were supposed to return from the ascent on Friday, but never checked in with the climbing company or park rangers, according to director of programs Gordon Janow.

An aerial search and rescue was initiated on Saturday, after the group still hadn’t been heard from and it was confirmed their vehicles remained at the mountain’s trailhead, according to Janow and the Associated Press.

The climbers were last in touch with park rangers on Wednesday at 12,800ft, the AP reported.
